Hey just had a quick thought I know it has nothing to do with the blog really but it might be kinda fun to think about. Now that Beowulf is becoming a movie I was in a book store tonight and saw some promos for the books. I wonder how many high school students did not want or would not have wanted to read the book will now read it because there is a movie coming out about it?
I was also looking in the Mythology/Folklore section and could not find any Akkadian mythology. Which I thought was disappointing because I would have really like to have some so I could read about Gilgamesh and stuff. (Which I thing would make a great movie by the way, but no one knows about him so I doubt they will make a movie about it.) But there was a lot of Greek and Celtic mythology and stuff like that. Since I have been at UK I see that they have some interesting classes in the Classics Department about mythology and stuff like that which I had time to take or better that they had them at Western so I could have taken them there. I mean why does Western not have a Classics department, that way we could take Greek every year and Latin if they wanted it.
Oh well I digress and leave you with my random thoughts, I hope you enjoyed them.

I thought I would take this opportunity to introduce myself, since I am listed as one of the authors of this blog. I have been in a major transition period of my life and have not recently had much to time to write even on my own blog.
I just graduated from WKU with a BA in Spanish, German, and Religious Studies. I spent this spring, my last semester of college, in Vienna, Austria and had a wonderful time meeting people and connecting with distant cousins on my mom's side of the family. I now work full-time at the Gatton Academy of Math and Science in Kentucky (on WKU's campus) as the Weekend Activities Coordinator. This position lasts through May, and I am not sure what I will do after that.
My interest in Religious Studies is an outgrowth of my love for God. I want to continue learning about my own Christian faith, especially as regards church history and Christian theology, as well as understand better other religions. When I have time, I hope to share on this blog thoughts that I have on various religious topics that I encounter in what I read and the conversations I have with people.
